I’ve posted the most recent photos on my Flickr page. I have two cameras that are broken right now so I haven’t been able to take pictures lately. Michelle also took some photos of Courtney and I for our Christmas cards.
Catching up
We’re on TV!
We went down to Tempe Splash park first thing this morning with the twins. The park was reopened today so I figured if we got there first it will be the cleanest it’s ever been. You can see Courtney, Reilly and me in the video, and there is a couple of shots of Jack from far away.
We weren’t there for very long, right when we were leaving vans full of daycare kids showed up. That would have been totally crazy if we had stayed. The boys had fun. I’ll post some pictures later.
**UPDATE** I took down the video because it was causing errors and pissing me off.

My photo of the sunset surrounded by the smoke from the fire in the west valley made it on to AZFamily.com! Yeah me!
Home safe
We made it home from Denver late last night. The twins did a really good job on the plane both ways. They are such awesome boys. We had an awesome time with the Clark family, Matt & Carrie and all their friends on Thanksgiving. I didn’t grow up with the best family environment but being a part of this one is making up for it. I walked a 5K on Thanksgiving morning, the first time since I was about 12 years old. Given the altitude adjustment, and 14 degree temperatures I wouldn’t let myself poop out half way, I was determined to finish the race!
Even a turkey can run the race:
This is me at the 2 mile mark:
One hour and nine minutes later I finished….and I wasn’t last! Then we were back home and started cooking the feast.
The day after we did some antique shopping, and hit the outlet mall near Carrie’s house. I’m not so excited about shopping this year…I’m not sure why. When we got back the twins were awake from their nap and Mrs.Clark made turkey soup for dinner. Saturday we headed out to the trail near Castle Rock for family photos in the hopes that we could get something good to use for Sean and Cathy’s Christmas cards. Here are some of the best: Hannafin Family Photos.
It’s good to be home. I wanted to start putting out some Christmas decorations but instead it catch up on Tivo day. Tomorrow it’s back to work.
Can I kick it?
Over the last week I have been kicking the Tribe Called Quest tunes…then mixing in the new Jimmy Eat World album. It’s an odd combination but I love it.
I wanted to share this photoshoot of my new friend Amy and her girls with everyone, we took these at Gainey Ranch last weekend. It was such a beautiful morning and the resort wasn’t too crowded. Aren’t they just lovely!
Having a blog these days means that I tend to get hit with spam quite a bit. I never really look that deep into the comments but one caught my eye recently. It was from a marketing company who wanted to know if I wanted to test drive the new 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan for a week. I answered their questions and after 20 minutes I was scheduled to have a mini-van for a week.
Right now I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey and I love it. I’ve only loved one other car more, my 1989 Honda CRX….ahh the memories. Dodge gave me a fully loaded mini-van to drive and I have to say that it’s not too shabby. Price-wise it’s comparable to the Honda, and it feels like it’s a bit smaller than my Honda. I love the DVD and Sirus system. I really wish I had pushed the salesmen to include that stuff in my van but after haggling for 10hrs I gave up the fight. My biggest complaint is that when you pull on the door handles the door doesn’t automatically open for you. The automatic open is on the key but not on the outside. The sound system is awesome, espically when cranking my old school tunes. Oh and the best thing is the satillite TV from Sirus….well if you have kids. Right now Sirus only offers three channels, all cartoons. I hope that the channel lineup grows because there is so much potential with that technology! The only other thing that worries…Dodge cars just don’t hold their resale value well compared to the Honda. If you are in the market for a new mini-van I would totally put this one on the list to try out.
Today, I’m at the CISCO lab getting waiting for Mark to catch up so we can start the last set of labs together. I am really impressed with myself that all this CISCO stuff is sticking with me. I have two more classes to get through and then it will be time for the certification test. A year ago I really didn’t have any idea where I wanted to go with work, I just knew that I couldn’t stay where I was at for much longer. I was on the verge of self-sabbotaging my job and that’s never a good thing. Even thought it has been rough, moving to the technology side of the company was a good decision. I was thinking about my dad recently…he was an Engineer, building ejection seats for jet fighters, and I thought I could never do anything like that. Looking at where I want to go now, I will be an Engineer, just like my dad. As weird as this may sound, this move feels right. Just as I get frustrated and want to give it up, the light comes on and it all makes sense again. Wow! That was deep.
I started Weight Watchers again. Watch out folks, Elisabet has been off of soda for a week!
I have some scrapbooking layouts and pictures to share. Look for those later today or tomorrow. It’s going to be an awesome day in Phoenix, get out and enjoy this city with the people you love!
Sunday in railroad park
Here are pictures from the photo shoot today:
Thanks to the Dykstra family for being super models!
Sunday afternoon fun
I posted pictures of the other Hannafin clan during their recent trip to the pumpkin patch here. It was such a lovely afternoon and the twins had a blast.
It’s Monday morning. I’m stuffy and have had no coffee yet….this is going to be a fun day (grrrr!).
Picture day
Thank you to my good friend Michelle for driving all the way into Phoenix to take pictures of me and Courtney. She did an awesome job! You can checkout the photos here: Engagement pictures.
I’m off to bed. Tomorrow starts a new week!
A much needed creative weekend
I so needed a weekend to just be creative for scrapbooking and photography. CKC was in town this weekend. I didn’t go, but I went to a crop with Michele last night. I got three layouts completed and two cards. I was ready to call it quits by 1030pm. I also spent Friday night scrapping a baby album for my good friend Amy. Amy was also kind enough to model for some pictures for me today. You can check them out here: Amy.
I babysat the twins all day which was exhausting but so much fun. They are growing so much! I’ve got a big week at work..I’m off to bed!
Updated Pictures
All the pictures from my trip will be in this Flickr gallery. As I update photos they will automatically be added to this set so check back frequently.
